Kansas City Conference for Catholic Homeschoolers 2008

Friday and Saturday, June 13th and 14th, 2008
Savior of the World Pastoral Center, Kansas City, KS

Chamber Music will provide entertainment on Friday night during dinner.
The Chambers' family has been sharing their God-given musical abilities in the Midwest since 2000, beginning with a performance for a pro-life event for the Knights of Columbus. They've played classical and bluegrass for nursing homes, schools, hospitals, private parties, festivals and fairs. Their most recent CD, Black & White, was released in 2006. Other CDs include: Talent on Loan and CAUTION: Talent in Use.

The family also just took first place in the Liberty Performing Arts Association New Musician Showcase.

They've played in Nashville, Montgomery, Phoenix, in addition to Gower, Holt and Mosby, from Crown Center to Zona Rosa, from the choir loft of many churches to St. Nicholas and St. Patrick feast day parties.

Luke, 18, plays guitar, bass, mandolin and just about every other instrument we own. He's been the main arranger for the 3 CDs. Gabriel, 17, has helped Luke arrange many of the songs, and he plays guitar, mandolin and bass. Dominic, 14, plays violin, piano and mandolin and offers great harmonic vocals to the group. Sophie, 10, is the main vocalist, and has been since age 3! She loves watching the Duttons from Branson perform, and Shirley Temple. John, 8, plays violin and double bass (1/10 size) and is most times the character on stage. Mom, alias Maribeth, plays flute and piano, and was taught bass by Luke.

Maribeth credits the Suzuki method for the kids' ability to easily learn and perform a wide repertoire from memory (although 1st credit goes to God's grace for that!).
